Yay updates! So what have I been up to this past month? Well, I've been doing a lot of reading, a lot of writing, and a lot of working. And now (after 6 months) I'm starting to get myself into a good working rhythm, which means more frequent updates (I'm trying make a strict schedule for myself) and more time for things like giveaways.
First on the agenda, some manga and graphic novel reviews! I read some great graphic novels this month and I can't wait to share them with you. Among them is the English release of CLAMP's Drug & Drop. I have been waiting forever for this to be released in English and what made it even better was that the Legal Drug omnibus arrived on my doorstep the same day. It was a CLAMP-tacular day!
Second, I was planning on posting some non-fiction reviews next week but then I checked the calender and realized that Fairest by Marissa Meyer dropped on Tuesday, which means my signed copy should be arriving any day now. Which means I will drop everything to read it the second it arrives. My original Fairest plan was to purchase the book on Tuesday and travel down to Cincinnati to meet the author herself on Saturday. Unfortunately the powers that be have made it impossible. I have to work that morning, The Husband has to work that afternoon/evening, and my bestie is also working that night -- which means I have no one to watch the kids and no one to go with. As a consolation I'm taking the kids to see Paddington. Fingers crossed I'll get another shot when Winter is released.
Third, it's tax season! Which I actually enjoy because that means it's home improvement time at our house. This year's project -- the basement. We're going to rip out the old carpet and put down the pet friendly, high traffic version. And then we're going to put up wall to wall, floor to ceiling shelves on one side and a big entertainment center on the other side. Which means my books will have a home, the video games will clutter the basement and not my living room, and I will get my bedroom floor back. And as an added bonus the basement won't smell like cat -- for a few months at least.
So stay tuned because the promised updates are coming! Plus I have a surprise announcement coming up sometime next month. Just in time for Valentine's Day.
